2025.12.11Recently, ZonhonBio completed a Phase I clinical trial for its "ZHB107-108 Sublingual Tablets" and obtained the Phase I Clinical Trial Summary Report. The study was titled: "A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Dose-Escalation Study to Evaluate the Tolerability and Safety of ZHB107-108 Sublingual Tablets in Chinese Adult Subjects with Dust Mite-Induced Allergic Rhinitis (With or Without Conjunctivitis)."
Sponsored by ZonhonBio, this safety study of ZHB107-108 sublingual tablets in adult patients with dust mite allergic rhinitis was led by Professor Cheng Lei, Principal Investigator, who serves as Chairman of the Chinese Society of Allergology, Director of the Department of Allergy at Jiangsu Province Hospital, and Director of the Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment Center. The Phase I clinical results demonstrated that all maintenance doses of ZHB107-108 sublingual tablets exhibited favorable safety and tolerability profiles in patients with dust mite-induced allergic rhinitis (with or without conjunctivitis). No serious adverse events or treatment-emergent adverse events leading to withdrawal were reported.
Based on the positive Phase I findings, ZonhonBio plans to initiate subsequent clinical studies in 2026 to further investigate the safety and efficacy of ZHB107-108 sublingual tablets.
Allergen-specific immunotherapy, also known as desensitization therapy, is currently the only treatment approach recognized as having the potential to modify the natural course of allergic diseases. ZHB107-108 is a novel sublingual desensitization vaccine formulation characterized by controllable dosing, excellent storage stability, and convenient administration. Delivered via sublingual dissolution, it induces immune tolerance, thereby altering the natural progression of allergic conditions and providing sustained symptom relief. This innovative therapy offers a new treatment solution for patients with dust mite allergies, improving their quality of life.
